Cookie Policy

Effective date: June 2026 · MintCarb (Pvt., Ltd.) · Last reviewed: June 2026

The short version

MintCarb uses one cookie — a session cookie that keeps you logged in to the platform. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not use tracking cookies. We do not install third-party marketing pixels. We do not share cookie data with external parties. There is no cookie banner on this website because we have nothing that requires your consent — only an essential session cookie that the platform cannot function without.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. Cookies serve many purposes — some are essential for a website to work, others are used to track your behaviour across the internet for advertising. We use only the former.

Cookies we use

Cookie nameTypePurposeDuration
mc_refreshEssentialStores your encrypted refresh token so you remain logged in to the MintCarb platform without re-entering your password on every page. This cookie is httpOnly (JavaScript cannot read it) and Secure (only sent over HTTPS). Without it, the login system cannot function.30 days (renewed on activity)
mc_csrfEssentialA cross-site request forgery (CSRF) protection token. This is a standard security measure that prevents malicious websites from making unauthorised requests on your behalf. It contains no personal information.Session

That is the complete list. No analytics cookies. No advertising cookies. No social media tracking pixels.

What we do not use

We have made a deliberate decision not to install the following on MintCarb:

  • Google Analytics or any equivalent web analytics service
  • Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any advertising network pixel
  • Hotjar, FullStory, or any session recording tool
  • Intercom, HubSpot, Drift, or any tracking-based chat widget
  • Any A/B testing tool that tracks users across sessions
  • Any third-party cookie that persists beyond your browser session without your knowledge

The reason is straightforward: our customers are industrial companies sharing sensitive emission data, compliance records, and trade positions. Tracking cookies are incompatible with the level of trust this relationship requires.

Public pages vs. platform

The public pages of MintCarb (this website — mintcarb.com) set no cookies at all unless you are logged in. The MintCarb platform (app.mintcarb.com, or the /dashboard area) sets the two essential cookies listed above. If you are only browsing the public site without logging in, no cookie is placed on your device.

How to control or delete cookies

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking the essential MintCarb session cookie will prevent you from staying logged in to the platform — you will need to sign in on every visit.

Instructions for managing cookies in popular browsers:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies

Legal basis

The two cookies listed above are strictly necessary for the platform to function. Under the EU ePrivacy Directive, India's proposed Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), and Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. We do not set any non-essential cookies that would require a consent mechanism.

Changes to this policy

If we ever add any new cookies — even strictly necessary ones — we will update this policy and notify registered users by email. We will not introduce advertising or tracking cookies without explicit opt-in consent from affected users.
